As I was sitting and quietly participating in the Purple Book Challenge, reading my Bible and completing the Purple Book, I noticed something interesting that reinforces what we have been reading in Prayer Evangelism. In Romans 3:9-20 Paul describes the life of those who are not Christians: they are not righteous, they do not understand the things of God, they do not seek after God, they have all turned aside, they have together become unprofitable, none of them do good, their throat is an open tomb, their tongues practice deceit, their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness, their feet are swift to shed blood, destruction and misery are in their ways, the way of peace they have not known, they have no fear of God in their eyes. This is quite an impressive description, I would say! And quite accurate, I must add. I can remember living like Paul describes and I can see the same things in the lives of those I know who have not found God. We know the Way of Peace. Each of us has an intimate relationship with Him, but our friends who are not Christians try everything else: yoga, having a good job, finding the right relationship, beginning new hobbies, perfecting old ones, etc. The list goes on and on as they try desperately to shamble together some semblance of peace and stability in their otherwise chaotic and seemingly pointless lives. It is up to us to obey God's call on our lives to show them this way of peace we are so intimate with! Are we willing to follow in John the Baptist's footsteps? He was to "Go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on hight has visited us; to give light to those whi sit in tdayrkness and the shadow of death, to guide [their] feet into the way of peace." (Luke 1:76-79) Peace is paramount. He is the Price of Peace. Let peace come.
